Over £250,000 investment programme for Bournville Parks
Bournville's two major parks are about to benefit from over £250,000 as part of an extensive investment programme.
The monies secured by the three Bournville councillors from a variety of sources will be spent over the next two months.
In Bournville Park it will mean refurbished tennis courts, 3 new picnic tables, new benches and new litter bins. The park will also have its rear entrance from Hay Green Lane replaced.
In Woodlands Park the investment will mean new children’s play equipment and refurbished paths.
Both parks will each have one of its pedestrian bridges replaced over the stream. We have asked that the new bridges will be designed so as to be interesting to children perhaps themed around a traditional children’s story.
Councillor Dawkins says, 'we are very fortunate to have been able to access this funding but we are also very pleased with our decision to spend it exclusively on upgrading our Bournville parks.
